Swiss Retail Federation has filed a formal complaint with the Swiss Competition Commission (WEKO) about payment service providers Twintalleging violation of Swiss competition law.

According to the complaint, TWINT abused its relatively strong market position and metabolized it in its payments and its owners’ anti-competitive trademarks.

It is said that your actions lead to excessive and financially unreasonable merchant fees, which is not only other industries in the retail sector (including hospitality).

Swiss Retail Federation, you forgot Weko took appropriate action to reduce Twint’s merchant fees to a level consistent with market norms.

“This represents the fundamental problem of striving for fair competition in payment transactions, striving for the interests of the company and customers,”

Dagmar Jenni, director of the Swiss Retail Federation, said.

The federal insists that the current cost structure poses an inappropriate burden on businesses and seeks regulatory interventions to provide a more fragrant and competitive environment for digital payments in Switzerland.
