    Australian Payment Plus (AP+) Announced to have chosen to participate in the next phase of the Acacia project, a research project led by the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) and the Research Centre for Cooperation in Digital Finance (DFCRC).

    The Acacia project explores how different forms of digital currencies and related infrastructure support the development of the Australian wholesale token asset market. Building on the success of the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) pilot in 2023, the project will develop and test the inputs of user enterprise participants to resolve settlements in the token asset market.

The second use case will explore what new services or frameworks may be needed to coordinate the best reconciliation between different asset classes and platforms, thus helping Reure’s future systems be safe, efficient and cohesive. A third purpose will explore how to use NPP to resolve different settlement methods to resolve sedimentary tokens (e.g. sedimentary tokens).

    Several other pilot participants will work with AP+ to integrate these uses into these uses.
